James Wendell Tillman

James Wendell Tillman, 81, died August 26, 2008 at Candler Hospital. He was born in Lumpkin, Georgia, son of the late, Frank N. and Lila Bell Cannington Tillman. He moved to Savannah in 1956 and was employed by Swift Meat Packaging, the Georgia Ports Authority and retired after 25 years of service with the ILA Clerk and Checkers Local 1475. Mr. Tillman was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean Conflict and a member of Ardsley Park Baptist Church where he had served as a deacon.

Surviving are his wife, Lois V. Tillman of Savannah; children, Gloria Seaverns and her husband, Bill of St. Augustine, FL; Thomas Wayne Tillman and his wife, Nancy of Savannah; Suzanne Elaine Walker and her husband, Ricky of Hahira, GA; Jeff Lewis Tillman and his wife, Lynn of Barney, GA; step-children, Gary Lynn Holton and his wife, Roxanne of Jackson, AL; Lisa H. Richburg and her husband, Artie of Savannah; Kevin M. Holton and his wife, Cindi of Guyton; eight grandchildren and eight step-grandchildren.

Visitation: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 28, 2008 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.

Funeral: 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 29, 2008 in the Hodgson Chapel of Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors.

Burial: Bethel Cemetery.
